I have always loved painting, but for over 50 years I have been a working musician. I started performing at age fourteen as a folk singer, and went professional at age 15 playing bass in an all-girl band. At the age of 19 I left Oklahoma to tour the west coast, at which time I switched to keyboards, including Hammond organ, as my first instrument was piano. I have been playing professionally ever since and have won several songwriting and keyboard awards.
I married my husband in 1972 and together we raised 4 beautiful children. The miracle is, music supported us for the most part. But, raising a family and playing music full-time left little time or space for my love of creating visual art.
When the pandemic hit and our music went on hold, my thoughtful adult children stepped up and made sure I had plenty of canvases and supplies to keep me busy and socially distanced. It kept me happy and inspired. So glad my other passion emerged. Hope you enjoy!
